Deepak Iyer
Deepak Iyer is an MD Candidate at the George Washington University School of Medicine currently completing a research year with the Division of Interventional Radiology at Emory University.
His early interests in the intersection of healthcare and business lead to majoring in Innovation in Healthcare during his undergraduate studies. These interests have continued to be cultivated through his involvement in the SIR Medical Student Council as prior Chair of the Biodesign and Innovation Committee, and present Chair of the Medical Student Council.
His prior research experience includes several projects within the Interventional Radiology departments of the George Washington University Hospital and Children’s National Medical Center.
His current work at BIMIT Lab centers around both the anti-occlusion drainage catheter and thrombosis detection stent projects.
